IBQ Fabrics with Positive Impact: The Strength of ECONYL® Yarn

At IBQ Textiles, we believe that sustainability is not at odds with performance. That's why we've been incorporating innovative fibers like ECONYL® for years, a 100% regenerated nylon yarn manufactured by Aquafil from waste such as fishing nets, carpets, and industrial plastics recovered from the ocean and landfills.

Thanks to our collaboration with Aquafil, today we want to highlight four key products that combine this fiber with our most technical constructions to create fabrics that protect both people and the planet: ANTON, STYRIA BRUSHED, CUTTLEFISH and SQUID.

Our fabrics with ECONYL®

Technical lightness for warm climates

ANTON is a fabric designed for action, where comfort and sustainability meet. With 86% ECONYL® regenerated polyamide and 14% elastane, its flat bi-stretch structure offers freedom of movement and excellent recovery after intensive use.

Thanks to its lightweight and breathable construction, ANTON provides a perfect balance between technical performance and comfort. Its quick-drying properties and resistance to pilling, abrasion, and snagging make it an ideal fabric for softshell garments and summer clothing designed for active climates.

Ideal applications:
Lightweight jackets, technical pants, active uniforms and softshell garments.

Key properties:

  • Great lightness and freedom of movement
  • Excellent elasticity and mechanical resistance
  • Quick drying and good breathability
  • Ideal for technical use in temperate and warm climates

Freshness, elasticity and sustainability in warm climates

SQUID stands for functional lightness. Its composition of 74% ECONYL® regenerated polyamide, 15% SENSIL® Breeze, and 11% elastane makes it an ideal fabric for warm climates, thanks to its cooling, quick-drying, and high breathability.

Designed with a double-sided bi-stretch, SQUID allows freedom of movement without compromising durability. Its technical surface protects against wear, while its interior promotes thermal comfort.

Ideal applications:
Technical pants and shirts, lightweight outdoor clothing, active uniforms, and protective clothing for warm environments.

Key properties:

  • Cooling effect with thermal regulation
  • High elasticity and comfort in movement
  • Excellent breathability and quick drying
  • Protection against snagging and intensive use

CUTTLEFISH

Intelligent thermal protection with ecological awareness

CUTTLEFISH is a fabric designed for cold and winter environments, where every layer counts. Comprised of an ECONYL® yarn exterior and a SENSIL® Heat backing, this fabric offers advanced thermal insulation, odor control, and excellent wear resistance.

Its thick, double-sided, bi-stretch construction not only insulates but also provides freedom of movement, durability, and long-lasting comfort even during extended outdoor activities.

Ideal applications:
Technical winter jackets and pants, protective clothing for extreme outdoor activities or mountaineering.

Key properties:

  • High thermal insulation capacity
  • Odor reduction thanks to coffee charcoal and SENSIL® Heat
  • High resistance to pilling and snagging
  • Technical comfort and durability

Sustainable warmth for extreme conditions

ESTIRIA BRUSHED is designed to offer thermal protection without sacrificing comfort or sustainability. Its blend of 82% ECONYL® regenerated polyamide, 6% merino wool, and 12% elastane results in a double-sided fabric with a technical exterior and a brushed interior with a soft, warm feel.

The bi-stretch construction provides great adaptability to movement, while merino wool contributes to natural thermoregulation, maintaining body heat even in the coldest conditions.

Ideal applications:
Winter clothing, outdoor jackets, thermal pants, and technical mountain clothing.

Styrian brushed

Key properties:

  • Excellent thermal insulation thanks to the brushed finish
  • Softness in contact with the skin
  • High elasticity and recovery
  • Resistance to frequent use and demanding conditions

An alliance for change

When sustainability is woven with excellence, design becomes commitment.

What is ECONYL® thread?
