Our certifications and standards

Why are certifications important?

The fashion and textile industry is considered one of the most polluting in the world. Fortunately, sustainability is becoming one of the fundamental pillars for companies.

However, we still have a long way to go, from the selection of our raw materials, to the circularity of the end of the product's life, through to the production processes, without forgetting the consumption habits of our society.

Consumers in general and new generations in particular are becoming aware of the major environmental and social challenges we face.

Our obligation as an integral part of the sector's value chain is to respond to this need.

At IBQ Textiles we know that the decisions we make today have consequences for the future of our planet. That is why we are committed to ensuring that our actions take into account how we can contribute to improving and conserving our natural environment.

Like many other companies in the sector, we are determined to work to leave a better world for future generations. Similarly, we believe it is important to be able to demonstrate these desires with actions.

One of the ways to do this is with the help of certification systems. There are many certifications and initiatives related to sustainability in our sector. At IBQ Textiles, we are proud to have been the first company in Spain to obtain the BLUESIGN certification.® in 2012.

BLUESIGN® It is one of the most demanding certifications in terms of product health and safety, process efficiency and traceability, and respect for the safety and well-being of workers.

What is BLUESIGN®?

BLUESIGN® is a sustainability standard that ensures that products or materials used are safer and more sustainable for people and the environment. Driven by a holistic approach, BLUESIGN® The company traces the path of each textile throughout the manufacturing process, introducing improvements at all stages of the production process. At the same time, it improves the environmental impact of textiles and, as a solution provider and knowledge broker, acts as an independent verifier to ensure trust and transparency. Consistent with this approach, it encourages the industry to step up its efforts in sustainable processes step by step.

Ultimately, BLUESIGN® represents the vision and mindset of responsible and sustainable manufacturing of consumer textile products.

In addition, we have other certificates that reinforce our vision, these are: Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100

It is the most widespread and recognized certification in relation to the safety of consumer textile products.

Global Recycled Standard, Organic 100 and Organic Blended

These are the certifications that allow us to guarantee traceability throughout our production process, of fabrics made from organically grown and recycled fibres, and as an extension of the rest of our products.

At IBQ Textiles we stand out for our holistic vision of sustainable textile production. Thanks to our traceability and transparency in the production process, we have the previous certifications and we continue working to obtain future certifications that continue to endorse our work.
